To accommodate its growing enrollment, Saint John School in Ashtabula, Ohio, required the addition of a two-story, 22,000 sq ft high school wing. The expansion, which includes classrooms, a cafeteria, and administrative offices, faced a tight construction timeline to be enclosed before the Northeast Ohio winter and ultimately prepared to open the following fall.

To meet this deadline, the school sought out durable building materials that would be time- and energy-efficient to reduce long-term maintenance and operational utility costs.

Tremco Construction Products Group (CPG) became the single source for compatibility across the entire building envelope, accelerating construction and delivering a sustainable and safe school.

A TPO roofing membrane with a 15 to 20-year warranty was initially specified for the metal roof deck. Instead, the school opted for a longer-lasting alternative: the 60 mil mechanically-fastened TremPly Kee single-ply roofing system over two layers of 3 in. ISO insulation. This robust Tremco roof solution gave the school a 30-year warranty.

For the roof-to-wall connections, Prebuck parapet caps were used to effectively transition between the roofing system and Insulated Concrete Form walls from Nudura. The building was then finished with Dryvit EIFS in a Sandblast finish.

All of these high-performance building solutions provided by the Tremco CPG brands give the Saint John School peace of mind, knowing that any questions or issues can be resolved with a single phone call.
