The City of Oviedo, a central Florida community of approximately 40,000 residents, operates a variety of public facilities. Like many municipalities, the city faced increasing challenges with aging HVAC equipment. Several systems lacked redundancy, creating single-point failures that could leave critical spaces without airflow or air conditioning.
Rather than pursuing costly equipment replacement, Oviedo partnered with WTI Pure Air to restore and enhance their existing mechanical infrastructure. The project included duct cleaning, HVAC system cleaning and comprehensive HVAC restoration across six units.
The investment delivered significant results. A 12,800 CFM air handler was restored for around 40% of the estimated replacement cost. In addition, proprietary coil-cleaning methods improved airflow by an average of 38%, while fan array retrofits added system redundancy, increased energy efficiency and provided the assurance of a five-year warranty.
By prioritizing the health of their indoor environments and maximizing the value of existing assets, the City of Oviedo demonstrated its commitment to occupant well-being and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
